Harvesting Sunflowers

Sunflowers reminds me of my early years on the farm. My Grandparents garden always had sunflowers. The weird thing with these though is that they don't turn black like I'd expect. They stay white and Last year I waited too long and lost many to an orange mold. The salting and roasting begins.

Christmas Hill Fire

Hiking up Christmas and nearing the to I heard a crackling sound. Grass Fire! Saanich Fire Dept. has this one under control. I guess this happens here fairly often.
